My latest #calligraphy #tattoo story on the blog. It’s a real honor to be connected to people in this way.
This last weekend I’ve been blessed to be in Florence, Italy in @bettysoldi ‘s orbit with 18 incredible women on retreat. Last night @editionposhette presented us with matching handmade cashmere capes—hands (mani) encircling our necks as we are manifestos. We dined under a hammer and sickle at a silver factory. This is how we will remake the world. Holding in my heart all of my sisters who were there in spirit.
What is even happening. I will never forget this birthday. A dinner party to celebrate @bizforpdx’s first anniversary at @thenightwoodsociety (Lord the meal from @princesspantalones; missing @smallsuppers & amazed as ever by @flower_girl_rose) @nataliesept’s incredible wolf art; a @dazzleconhq cake !!! (🦓 @quicklywilliam, @leahscafe) flowers from @bettysoldi @_kate_joyce @ashleyhenrypdx (♥️ @hilaryhorvathflowers); original artwork of a rock badger from Andrew; Mary Beard’s “Women & Power” from @smithandconnors; @rebekahmonson look who I found! @jennbrandel we are bringing Hearken power to Portland and also holy crap: A Simpler Way. And the love and remarkable energy from @sonyamichellesanford @annahutson @israelbayer @braxtonp013 @twatson @kristenmaeve @lkanies (and countless more). @turoczy sorely missed. From the bottom of my heart thank you. The lessons I learn about love & kindness & generosity from you are astonishing, endless, profound.

The family that shoots together stays together. I “competed” in my first ski/shoot “try a biathalon.” Niece Ayla, 12, was my coach. Then BB gun shooting from the living room in between bites of crepes at breakfast. Never a dull moment with @springcreeker. “These targets provided by a generous grant from the NRA”
I consistently feel like a human of this world after leaving the compassionate, skilled, gifted hands of @kimnamanny at @windowwallsalon. I am so in love with Kim, her community, and this woman owned business that I’m posting a bathroom selfie glamour shot with red lipstick (which has happened like never?) featuring somewhat different bangs 🎉 Here it is: if you are in #pdx looking for the best #salon and the most kickass #girlboss get thee to Windowall stat. Ok going to clean the kitchen now and return to my hoodie.
These two! This winter @bizforpdx helped to host *9* holiday parties to help our friends at @streetroots. Dozens of companies, hundreds of employees & their families assembling kits for those in need. The kids decorated the kit bags. This is my favorite illustration. Cat in suit! 😂 @lindseye525 ♥️
The last 24 hours in reverse: car calligraphy, Bread & Puppet Museum, Glover general store woodstacking, Museum of Everyday Life, the cutest puppy I’ve ever seen, a curtain of bells. Every November I take a 3k mile road trip with Switchboard during the week & unplanned itineraries on the weekend. Every minute I’m transformed. There is so much life to live.
Spiritual experience. Almost two years ago @myopicmisanthrope made this illustration for “Sex & Startups.” It described the world @jennbrandel And I wished to see. @smallsuppers just sent me these incredible photos of @thenightwoodsociety. I feel like I’m living in the future. I know everything is burning but this is how it will all be okay.
